Convoluting foam is making foam into “egg crate” shape for use in foam cases and for sound acoustics. Soft, medium, and firm polyurethane can all be convoluted including anti-static foams.
We convolute foam in-house allowing us to control size, depth, density, firmness, and type of foam and giving us cost advantages. We can adjust the depth of the valleys, the height of the peaks, and the distances between them. This allows us to create the exact look and performance you are looking for.
As the manufacturer of convoluted foam, we sell to other foam companies that turn around and sell our product to you with a mark-up.
Convoluted foam is commonly used in the tops of hard cases and for acoustic panels. One thing to note is acoustic panels are designed for improving the sound in a room by absorbing sound waves, reducing echo, and reverberation. They do not significantly reduce the overall sound level in a room or provide soundproofing to keep sound from escaping the room.
